ForestSource Identify™ – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ForestSource ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with ForestSource Identify™ at id.forestsource.io.
By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account Information
- Email address
- Basic profile data (e.g., name or display name if provided)
- Plan type (Free, Pro) and related subscription status
Usage & Log Data
- Dates/times of logins and identifications
- Species predictions and model metadata (confidence, model version, etc.)
- Identifications associated with your account for usage tracking and quotas
Uploaded Content
- Images of wood/slabs you upload
- Any text or notes you provide with uploads (if applicable)
Billing Information
- Billing is processed via Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
- We may store Stripe customer and subscription IDs, last 4 of card, and status information needed to manage your subscription.
Technical Information
- IP address, browser/user agent, and approximate region
- Cookies or similar technologies required for authentication and session management
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Service (including quotas and billing)
- Generate and return AI predictions for your uploads
- Improve model performance, accuracy, and reliability over time
- Monitor and protect the Service from abuse or misuse
- Communicate with you about your account, changes, and important updates
- Analyze usage trends in aggregate to guide product decisions
We may use anonymized or aggregated data (with identifying details removed) for analytics, research, or reporting.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with:
- Service providers (e.g., hosting, storage, logging, analytics, payment processing) who help us operate the Service and are bound by appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.
- AI infrastructure providers used to run inference (e.g., model hosts). Content and metadata may be processed by these providers solely for the purpose of performing the Service.
- Authorities if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public.
- If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, your data may be transferred as part of that process, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Uploaded images and prediction logs may be kept to monitor and improve the Service. You can contact us if you wish to request deletion of specific data; we'll honor reasonable requests subject to legal and operational constraints.

- Optionally measure basic analytics (e.g., anonymized usage)
